With impressive services the new Russian church at Green Street and Van Ness Avenue was consecrated yesterday morning by Father Sebastian Dabovich of Jackson, head of the Serbian mission. He was assisted by Father Pashkovsky, pastor of the church, Father Arseny of the Greek church of this city, and Father Mitropolsky, assistant pastor of the church.
During the ceremony the altar was blessed with oil, wine, and water, and the new vestments were also consecrated. After a procession through the interior of the edifice the celebrants proceeded outside and there blessed the exterior of the church. The music during the services was given by a choir under the direction of Professor Grevsky.
The new church is one of the most attractive places of worship in this city. It is a frame structure erected at a cost of about $35,000. It is of typical Russian architecture, surmounted with a round dome and gold crossed. The interior is appropriately decorated with biblical scenes. Flowers were used in profusion yesterday morning in beautifying the interior. There services were largely attended.1
